HOLA!

I’m not quite sure how to blog about vacations and trips. I mean, how do I put the sight, smell and scenes into words? So bear with my blabbering on unwanted details.

I did my revision before jetting off by Ryan Air to Barcelona, browsed through articles on Gaudi and Picasso and the places of interests. Sad to say, I’m not really an art person. To me it’s just a combination of talent and colors. I don’t feel the sombre mood and whatsoever underlying meaning. The 2-hour-flight was agonizing, cheap airline mah..

We mingled with the locals the next morning, went groceries shopping at the market near our apartment.

Squirrels?(UPDATES : I was being mocked at for thinking it's a squirrel- Nickki :你那里一边看到像squirrel 的?猪脑 哈哈哈!)-__- jeez,on second look, what the hell was on my mind??

Our breakfast as the result of our limited communication tools of only a pen and a piece of paper. Typical Spanish dishes overloaded with seafood.

Park Guell.

It started to rain so heavily we had to stop by a local bakery. (In fact, it rained almost everyday, it was only sunny only on the 9th)But it wasn’t that bad coz the croissant was heavenly!

Crispy, crunchy,sweet.

Too sweet I reckon. But am lovin' the hazelnuts :D

La Sagrada Familia, one of Gaudi's great work, built on 1882 and is still in the process.

Olympic Stadium.

Football stadium.

Xue Neng and Gilbert.

I had the most awesome gaufres (waffle) in the Spanish Village. I’ll never forget the texture of it, crusty on the outside, moist on the inside, layered between ‘em is the chocolate syrup, more chocolate syrup drizzled on top along with smooth fresh cream. Ah, life!

Photos in next post. Getting lazy dy..

Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya

LOOK! My antenna!

The never-ending, La Rambla street.

Famous Casa Milla.

Fish and olive, 2 for a euro. Don’t like it though.

Dinner was paella and more paellas for 2 days.

Seafood paella.

Arroz negro (black squid ink paella) The name says it all.

If I had to choose, Spain is definitely not my place for retirement or work, only for pleasure. I cannot live under the constant fear of being snatched or pick pocketed. Good thing we came back in a piece :)

Til then, adios!
